Yes - it's a good laugh, like a comedy show, like 'The Life of Brian'.Now that was really funny. It wouldn't be such a joke if it had really happened. That would be a really sick joke!
It's a funny movie. the haggling sketch and the Romanus Ire Domus is really good. The thing is that it's ultimately a tragedy, since it ends with hopelessness, or cheerful stoicism. Brian dies. Pity really, when Christ is actually risen.
I'm not really trying to change the subject with it. You brought it up on a thread about something else. For some reasoned you're convinced I need to have strong views one way or the other. I've not blogged about it as it's not something I know much about and wouldn't want to speak into. You clearly feel passionately about it, and believe your cause is just, and it's a legitimate position and that's fine.
Yes, sorry, I see I mixed up the previous thread with this one but you say of Israel/Palestine "it's not something I know much about and wouldn't want to speak into" which is fair enough to some extent but seems to me to be a bit lacking when it concerns the place where your religion is supposed to have started and is continually in the headlines for various reasons. And yet you do seem to have opinions on it when you say in the previous thread " Well, there was a response which was that it is complicated from a Biblical perspective - as well as a political one - and it's not something I've thought about as deeply as other things." So you believe its complicated - land theft! Are you serious?! Where is your cause for the dwindling Christians in Palestine? The Amos trust have their thought in the right place - look them up perhaos and do a little reading about the recent history of Palestine. Perhaps you should consider yours and not just accept the "its complicated" meme. I could suggest some reading matter.

Think it ends with cheerful optimism. Things can only get better if you think of the positives! And you know the actual is not true in the film!
And your's trying to change the subject from I/P because you are uncomfortable with your position on it?

But he didn't did he except in the minds of people in past times!
